Monogram Inlay Cutting Board

$95.00

Monogram inlay cutting board with a large hardwood initial and contrasting walnut stripes. A light hardwood board with two dark walnut stripes, and a large monogram inlaid into the center. The letter is part of the board itself, not printed or burned on the surface, so it stays crisp for years. A routed juice groove makes it as useful as it is good-looking.

  • Light hardwood with walnut accent stripes
  • Large monogram inlaid into the wood
  • Routed juice groove on the working face
  • A wedding, housewarming, or anniversary gift

Monogram Inlay Cutting Board

Most personalized cutting boards are laser engraved: the letter is burned into the surface and fades as the board is used. On this board, the monogram is a true inlay. A pocket is carved in the shape of the letter and filled with a contrasting hardwood, then sanded flush, so the initial runs through the surface.

The board itself is built with two stripes of walnut running its length. That frames the monogram in the middle. A routed juice groove circles the face. Many customers stand it on a plate easel as kitchen decor and use the back as the everyday cutting side.

Features

  • Inlaid monogram: the letter is carved into the board and filled, not just surface engraved.
  • Two-tone design: light hardwood with walnut accent stripes.
  • Juice groove: routed around the face.
  • Food-safe finish: Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil and Wood Wax.

Make It Yours

  • Monogram: one initial in a classic serif font, or ask about other fonts.
  • Engraved back: an optional name, wedding date, or short message on the back.

Materials and Construction

We mill the hardwood and walnut, glue them up into a striped panel, and flatten it. The monogram is carved on our CNC machine, filled, and sanded flush. Then the juice groove is routed, the edges are eased, and the board is sanded smooth and finished with Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil and Wood Wax.

The Story Behind This Piece

This board was made for a family’s kitchen, where it stands on the counter beside the coffee maker, as much decor as a tool. A big initial makes it unmistakably theirs.

Care and Keeping

Hand wash with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry the board standing on edge so air reaches both faces. Never put it in the dishwasher and never leave it soaking in the sink; standing water is what warps and cracks a wooden board.

When the wood starts to look pale or dry, usually every few weeks with regular use, rub on a coat of Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil and Wood Wax, let it soak in overnight, and wipe off the extra. A well-oiled board resists stains and odors and will last for decades.

Knife marks are normal on any cutting board and are a sign it is being used. End grain hides them especially well, because the knife slips between the wood fibers instead of slicing across them.

If you mostly display this board, cut on the back side to keep the monogram face looking its best.

Good to Know

  • No two are alike: wood grain, color, knots, and figure vary from board to board, so your piece will not match these photos exactly. That variation is the mark of a handmade piece, not a defect.
  • These photos show a piece we made earlier: yours is built new, to your details.
  • Personalized pieces are final sale: because they are built to your details, custom and personalized items cannot be returned. If anything arrives damaged, contact us with photos of the piece and packaging and we will make it right.
