Custom pieces, practical small-batch work, signs, displays, serving pieces, wall art, personalized gifts, and outdoor décor built around the intended use.
Computer Numerical Control Carving
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) carving helps with repeatable shapes, lettering, relief work, pockets, templates, and precise details in suitable materials.
Laser Engraving
My 5.5-watt laser is used for engraving and light-material work when the material and design test well. It is not treated as a substitute for heavy cutting tools.
Epoxy Resin
Resin can add color, fill, contrast, or a mixed-material element when the design and intended use make sense.
Three-Dimensional Printing
Three-dimensional printing is useful for selected parts, fixtures, templates, and details that support a woodworking project.
How Custom Work Starts
- Share the idea
Tell me what the piece needs to do, its rough size, your budget range, target date, and destination. - I review the fit
I check the materials, tools, schedule, delivery or shipping, and whether the work fits my shop. - Approve the written terms
If it is a fit, I provide the design details, estimate, expected timing, payment terms, and delivery plan in writing. - I build the piece
Work begins after the design and written terms are approved and any case-by-case initial payment has cleared.
How Vern's Started
Vern is my family nickname. After work, I would head to the garage, have a beer, and unwind by making sawdust. Five years of woodworking later, that garage hobby has grown into a small business built from my private shop in Charleston.
The Spirits are part of the origin story. The woodworking is what I sell.
