House Number Planter Box

House number planter box with a carved backboard and your family name engraved on the front. A tall backboard carries your house number, carved into the wood, and the planter box in front is engraved with your family name in script. Fill it with flowers or greenery and set it by the front steps, at the door, or near the mailbox. We build it made to order from pine, so yours will look a little different in grain and color from the photo.

House Number Planter Box

First impressions start at the front door. This planter gives guests and delivery drivers the house number at a glance and adds a seasonal pop of color. The numbers run down a tall backboard, carved into the wood, and the box in front is engraved with “The” and your family name, framed by a decorative flourish. Fill the box with a pot of flowers or greenery and swap in fresh plants with the seasons without replanting.

This piece is built made to order from pine, so the grain, color, and figure vary from board to board. Your piece will not match these photos exactly, and that natural variation is the mark of a handmade piece, not a defect. The photos show a piece we made earlier, with the house number 219 on the backboard and “The Barnetts” engraved on the box; yours is built new to your details.

Make it yours

Make it yours with your own house number and family name. The numbers can run down the backboard in a size that reads from the street, and the box is engraved with “The” and your family name, or with “The” and “Est. [year]” if you like.

How we build it

The backboard and box are cut from pine boards and glued and nailed together. The house numbers and family name are carved on our computer-controlled router. After you check out, tell us your house number and family name, and we will set out the layout with you before we cut.

Care and keeping

Dust the piece with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from standing water. On a porch, place it where it is sheltered and use a pot with a saucer inside the box so the wood is not sitting in wet soil. A fresh coat of sealer now and then keeps it looking good.

Build time, shipping, and delivery

Every piece is made to order. After you check out, we set out the design and the build time with you, and shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address. For orders of $75 or more within 25 miles of Charleston, West Virginia, free local delivery may be available. We are a private shop, so we do not offer pickup or workshop visits.

Gifts

This makes a thoughtful housewarming or anniversary gift. If you are ordering for someone else, tell us at checkout and include the date you need it by, and we can ship the piece directly to the recipient.

Good to know

Personalized pieces are final sale, because they are built to your details and cannot be returned. If a piece arrives damaged, send us photos of the piece and its packaging and we will make it right. West Virginia sales tax applies to orders delivered in West Virginia.
