Custom Military Service and Award Plaque

Military service award plaques honor a retirement, a new assignment, or a contribution to the unit. We build each plaque to order in solid oak, engraving the recipient’s name, rank, dates, a short message, and their unit and branch emblems, and we can add a raised or beveled crest when you provide a file. Each piece is ready to hang or stand, and the grain and handmade details vary from piece to piece. For unit and team awards we build matching sets.

Military Service Award Plaques

Much of our work has been made for soldiers retiring or moving to a new assignment, and these plaques are the core of that work. Each one is built around the person receiving it: their rank insignia, their unit crest, the dates they served, and a message that says what their service meant.

We make each plaque to order and personalize it for the recipient. You choose the style that fits: a classic engraved plaque puts the full design on a smooth oak face with a routed or chamfered border, and a layered plaque adds a raised or beveled crest when you provide a file, set proud of the wood. We can engrave the crests and lettering ourselves or work from a design you send us. For unit and team awards, we build matching sets so every member receives the same design with their own name and position.

Every plaque is made to order, and the grain and handmade details vary from piece to piece. No two are alike, because wood grain, color, and figure vary from board to board, so your piece will not match these photos exactly. That variation is the mark of a handmade piece, not a defect. Each piece is finished with a clear coat that brings out the grain and fitted with hanging hardware for the wall or a stand for a desk.

Personalized pieces are built to your details, so custom and personalized items are final sale and cannot be returned. If anything arrives damaged, contact us with photos of the piece and the packaging and we will make it right. Gifts can ship straight to the person you are honoring, so tell us in the order notes when a plaque is a gift and include the date you need it by. For orders of $75 or more within 25 miles of Charleston, West Virginia, free local delivery may be available, and we are a private shop, so we do not offer pickup or workshop visits. West Virginia sales tax applies to orders delivered in West Virginia.

For official crests, team logos, and other protected marks, tell us what you need and send proof of permission when you have it, and we will tell you plainly whether we can take it on. If you have a firm date, such as a retirement or a holiday, tell us when you order and we will say honestly whether we can meet it. After you order, ask for a digital proof in the order notes and we will send one back before the work starts, so you can check the layout and lettering before anything is cut.
