Wood Epoxy American Flag Wall Art
The American flag in wood and resin. Each stripe is carved into the board and filled with glossy red or pearl-white epoxy. The blue field holds 50 wooden stars cut into the wood. A raised border frames the flag, and the finished piece is ready to hang. Order it plain, or with a branch emblem carved across the stripes.

This flag takes the familiar wooden flag and adds the depth and shine of resin. Instead of paint, the stripes and field are poured in tinted epoxy, so the colors are rich and glossy, and the wood between them gives the piece warmth and texture.
The stars are left in natural wood, standing out from the blue. A raised border runs around the edge like a frame. For veterans and service members, we can carve a branch emblem across the stripes and fill it in its own color. The piece in our photos carries the Marine Corps emblem in deep red.
Epoxy-filled stripes carved channels filled with red and pearl-white resin. Wooden stars 50 natural wood stars set in a blue epoxy field. Branch emblem optional, carved across the stripes and filled in color. Built-in frame a raised border routed from the same board. Ready to hang.
We start with a glued-up panel, milled flat. Our computer numerical control machine cuts the blue field around the stars, the stripe channels, the border, and any emblem. Each color is poured separately as tinted epoxy: blue in the field, red and pearl white in the stripes, and the emblem color last. Each pour cures before the next. The face is then sanded flat so the wood and resin sit perfectly flush, and the whole flag gets a clear protective coat.
We first built these as a pair: a plain flag and one with the Marine Corps emblem across the stripes, made for a Marine veteran. The emblem version is now one of the most-asked-about pieces in the shop.
Epoxy resin is hard and glossy, but it is not glass. Clean the resin and the wood with a soft cloth and a little mild soap and water, then dry. Skip abrasive pads, ammonia cleaners, and solvents, which can haze or scratch the surface. Keep the piece out of long hours of direct sunlight. Over time, sunlight can yellow clear resin and fade colored pours, so a spot away from a sunny window keeps the colors bright.
