Cedar Heartbeat Keepsake Box
$65.00
Cedar heartbeat keepsake box for jewelry, a wedding band, a handwritten note, or other small treasures. Cut from aromatic cedar in the shape of a heart, it has a lid that nests into the base and a carved heartbeat line running across the top. Bands of contrasting wood wrap one side for a pop of color. Inside, there is room for a ring, a necklace, a lock of hair, or a handwritten note. Made to order, with grain and handmade details that vary from one piece to the next.
Cedar Heartbeat Keepsake Box
Some gifts are about what goes inside. This box is made for the small keepsakes that do not belong in a drawer: a first piece of jewelry, a hospital bracelet, a wedding band, a note you want to keep.

The box is cut from solid aromatic cedar, whose warm reds and cream streaks make every piece different. A lid in the same heart shape drops into a recess on top of the base, and a heartbeat line is carved across it. One side of the box is banded with contrasting wood stripes that wrap from the lid down into the base when it is closed. Our logo is engraved inside the lid, where you can also add a date, initials, or a short message.
Features
Solid aromatic cedar. Fragrant, warm-toned, and different in every box.
Heartbeat lid. A carved heartbeat line across the top.
Fitted lid. Rests in a recess on the base so it stays put.
Accent bands. Contrasting wood stripes that line up when the box is closed.
Make It Yours
Inside the lid: initials, a date, or a short message.
Lid design: the heartbeat line, or initials, a date, or a small icon in its place.
Materials and Construction
The box starts as a glued-up block of cedar with the accent strips set into one side. The heart shape, the inside pocket, and the lid recess are cut on our CNC machine. The lid is cut from the same block, so the grain and the accent stripes line up when the box is closed. The heartbeat line is carved into the lid, the edges are eased, and the box is sanded smooth inside and out and finished with an oil and wax finish that lets the grain show.
Care and Keeping
This piece has an oil and wax finish that lets the grain show and the wood feel like wood. Dust it with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe up spills soon after they happen. Keep it out of standing water, away from harsh cleaners, and out of long hours of direct sun, which can fade the color over time. When the surface starts to look dry or dull, rub a small amount of furniture oil or wax into the wood with a clean cloth, let it sit a few minutes, and buff off the extra. Once or twice a year is plenty for most pieces.
The Story Behind This Piece
The heartbeat on the lid was the idea that made this box. A simple line that means you are what keeps this going says a lot without words.
Build Time, Shipping, and Delivery
Every piece is made to order. After you check out, a digital proof of the layout and lettering is sent only when you ask for one in your order notes, and nothing is cut until you approve it. Plan on a few days for us to build and finish your piece; shipping time is in addition to the build time. If you have a firm date, such as a retirement, birthday, or holiday, tell us when you order and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it. We do not guarantee rush work. We pack every piece carefully for the trip. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address. For orders of $75 or more within 25 miles of Charleston, West Virginia, free local delivery may be available. Gifts can ship directly to the recipient.
Good to Know
No two are alike. Wood grain, color, knots, and figure vary from board to board, so your piece will not match these photos exactly. That variation is the mark of a handmade piece, not a defect. These photos show a piece we made earlier, and yours is built new, to your details. Personalized pieces are final sale, because they are built to your details, so custom and personalized items cannot be returned. If anything arrives damaged, contact us with photos of the piece and packaging and we will make it right. West Virginia sales tax applies to orders delivered in West Virginia.
