What Helps Me Evaluate Your Custom Woodworking Job
A few practical details help me decide whether the project fits my shop and give you a useful answer.
Use and Size
Tell me what the piece needs to do, rough dimensions, quantity, and where it needs to fit.
Look and Personalization
Share wood or finish preferences, names or wording, a sketch, and photographs or links that show the direction you like.
Budget and Timing
Include a realistic budget range and any wedding, holiday, retirement, presentation, or other target date I should consider.
Destination
Send your city, state, and ZIP code so I can judge local delivery or shipping practicality before estimating the work.
Capabilities
Woodworking is the main work. Depending on the piece, I can also use Computer Numerical Control (CNC) carving, laser engraving, epoxy resin, and three-dimensional printing for lettering, shapes, mixed-material details, fixtures, or parts.
Common directions include awards and plaques, signs and engraving, cutting boards and serving pieces, flags and wall art, desk and coin displays, personalized gifts, and house-number or outdoor décor.
Practical Limits
- I do not accept customer-supplied lumber.
- Extremely large work, unsafe designs, and work that cannot be delivered or shipped reasonably may be declined.
- Protected, branded, copyrighted, trademarked, and insignia-based material is reviewed case by case and may require proof of permission.
- I do not accept hate-based or racist content.
- Repair and refinishing requests are considered case by case after I understand the condition and scope.
Review, Estimate, and Approval

I check the size, materials, tools, curing time, current workload, delivery or shipping, and whether the job fits my private shop. - I reply
I normally respond within one to three business days. Complex questions may take additional review before I can estimate the work. - I provide written terms
If the job is a fit, the estimate identifies the scope, price, expected production timing, payment terms, and delivery or shipping plan. - You approve the design
Reasonable revisions can be made before final approval. Once the design is approved and work begins, later changes are not included and may be declined or require revised terms.
Deposits and other initial payments are decided case by case and stated in the written estimate. Final payment is due before shipping or delivery unless the accepted estimate says otherwise.
Delivery and Shipping
For accepted orders of at least $75, free local delivery may be offered within 50 miles of Charleston, West Virginia. Smaller orders may qualify when delivery can be coordinated with travel I am already making.
I do not offer customer pickup or workshop visits. Work outside the local area is shipped when the piece can be packaged and transported safely. Packaging and shipping charges are stated in the listing or written estimate; free shipping is not promised.
